Professional Certified Wellness Coach, PCC
My name is John Ward, and I am an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC). I received my coach training certification in holistic life, career, and executive coaching through the Goal Imagery Institute International School of Coaching Mastery. After completing the extensive education and rigorous practice requirements, I was awarded the PCC credential by the International Coach Federation (ICF) -- joining a group of highly trained coaches who provide accountability to their clients and to the coaching profession while taking my certification a step further by becoming an instructor for the coaching program.
I utilize a person-centered approach in my coaching that incorporates the mind, body and soul, and one that facilitates personal and professional growth and development. My clients come from a diverse array of backgrounds and experiences, but what they all have in common is their humanness and their desire to create change in their lives. Whether they are trying to achieve a greater sense of well-being, are experiencing major life and career transitions, or are wanting to be a more effective leader, coaching has helped them create a path towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Prior to coaching, I served as a business management professional for more than 20 years supporting nonprofit research and human development organizations. I understand the challenges organizations and their leaders face today. Having served as a management and leadership team member for many years, I specifically understand the shifting landscape of the workplace, and the need for managers and leaders to be flexible, adaptable, and resilient in organizations. Whether working with administrative staff, managers or C-Suite executives, I offer a holistic approach to each individual while supporting the organization’s overall goals and objectives.
When I was at a crossroad with my own health and career, I sought out the services of a coach. At the time, I was overwhelmed with stress, unhappy in my career and extremely overweight. Deciding to work with a coach many years ago was the start of an amazing journey that has brought me here today. By focusing on my own personal leadership -- leading from within -- I became more self aware, practiced self-care and developed the courage to make major changes in my life. It wasn’t easy and it took time, but the decisions I made opened up so many new possibilities for me. I found purpose in my life and began to use my gifts that had been lying dormant for so many years.
I have experienced first-hand the value that coaching can provide. Honoring where you are right now and where you would like to go is where we begin. We will cross the bridge towards new possibilities together. I look forward to partnering with you on this journey to create a more meaningful and inspired life -- and working together in reaching your goals.
In addition to my exciting work as a coach, I am also an enthusiastic art instructor and expressive arts facilitator. I provide creative engagement opportunities for those living with Alzheimer's, dementia and other neurocognitive disorders; and am extremely passionate about my service as a hospice volunteer, providing compassionate care to individuals at the end of life, as well as supporting children and adults who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
