Life, Career, and Executive

Sometimes you have to let go of the picture of what you thought life would be like and learn to find joy in the story you are actually living.

What is coaching?

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching honors the client as the expert in his/her life and work and believes that every client is creative, resourceful, and whole."

What can I expect from coaching?

Each coaching session will be unique to the goals in which the client would like to achieve that day. We will begin our session by exploring what the client would like to focus and achieve that would provide value to their lives. The coach will partner with the client to explore the client’s thoughts and solutions to their individual goals through active listening, asking a series of powerful questions, and providing insights and exercises to achieve one’s goals. By the end of the session, the client should have more clarity to the next steps to meet such goal(s).

When should I consider coaching?

Many people will consider life, career, or executive coaching when they are considering making a big change. Some examples of change include but are not limited to: marriage, divorce, children, multi-generational living situations, buying a house, moving out of state, career change, enhancement of skill set to obtain desired promotion, management changes, losing a job, taking care of an ill-loved one, sexual orientation, major corporate decisions, financial decisions, and much more.

Why is coaching valuable?

There is an expectation put on people from the time we are children to where we are now in our lives. Expectations can be based on a number of things such as religious beliefs, values, prior experiences, how we were raised, job requirements, judgments on the way we act and react to certain things, appearance, and decisions we make just to name a few. When we don’t meet set expectations, we might feel a sense of shame, guilt, failure, and any additional negative feeling that comes from the judgment of others that potentially leads us into settling on directions we didn’t want to take. Your coach will partner with you to explore the choices you want to make for any given situation with complete confidentiality and no judgments by actively listening, asking powerful questions, and providing insights that may not have been considered to help the client to come up with their own conclusion to the direction they want to take to live the life they want to live.

Where do these sessions take place?

Sessions will be completed through a secure web-based software. This will be a face-to-face meeting between the coach and client. A phone and internet access will be required. Through the web-based software, a client may download an app on their phone or connect via a laptop/home computer.
