Holistic Life, Career, & Executive Coach
My name is Caren Robinson. Spelled with a “C”, memorable for “c”aring for the community. I have spent my whole life in service to others in some form to help better their lives in some way. I have worked and volunteered in partnership with various non-profit, grassroots, and professional services. I have had a vast array of professional experience including but not limited to: Emergency Medical Services, Legal Advocate for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Survivors, Medical Advocate, Social Worker, Management, Business Owner, and Training Coordinator. I am pleased to also add being a Certified Holistic, Life, Career, and Executive Coach™ to these skills.
I received my training as a Life Coach through Goal ImageryⓇ Institute, International School of Coaching Mastery™, an accredited International Coach Federation (ICF) program. My training incorporated holistic coaching techniques including but not limited to: traditional, brain-based, ontological, Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), and positive psychology coaching methods. I am also a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), ICF of Michigan, and other professional organizations that support my ability to provide a meaningful coaching experience. I specialize in coaching clients going through life transitions.
I have been blessed to have been able to experience a wide range of opportunities that have stretched me to better myself, advocate for myself, and allow me to build not only a meaningful life, but one that allows me to share those experiences by giving to others. In 2014, I ended up on the receiving end of those services I had always been giving. I was involved in a life-changing event (a catastrophic wreck), that literally dumped my life upside down and changed everything as I knew it. I was forced to start over and learn how to adjust by radically accepting my new normal and learning how to traverse a very different world than I was used to based on the Polytrauma and Traumatic Brain Injury I had sustained. The process of rehabilitation from my injuries led me to Life Coaching and being able to still add value to other people’s lives in the world and to help clients traverse through their own various life transitions; from someone who has experienced it first-hand.
I have dealt with weight issues my entire adult life, including battling against PCOS, Hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s, Polytrauma, Sleep Apnea, and additionally that litany of other body changes outside of my control (like the injuries sustained in the wreck, adjusting to a pandemic, etc). I understand what it is like to need to focus on what’s best for MY body, what’s going to help ME be MY best fit self, while dealing with MY body limitations, and finding a balance between things I can and cannot control.
With the help of a team of professionals outside of myself, a strong support system, my own personal drive to survive and thrive, and giving myself permission to evolve at my own pace, I was able to find MY own voice once again, honor MY own body, and be the best ME I can be. I now have the opportunity to give back, give better, and graciously offer my skills and experiences to the world.
I would encourage you to consider that your life transitions (whether career, medical, relationship, financial, etc), while they impact your life in a number of ways do not define who YOU are or what YOU are capable of. I look forward to helping you learn more about yourself, supporting you through your life transitions, helping you gain perspective on achieving your goals, and discovering/nurturing the thriver inside of YOU through YOUR coaching process.
